Are you open during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Yes our clinic remains in operation as per usual as registered Acupuncturist and Herbalist are considered front line practitioners within the scope of government law.

How do I book an appointment?

We require all initial patients to book via our online book site (https://chinesehealth.book.app/).

Please select ‘Health Assessment Initial’ then select your preferred day and time.

If your preference is not available then you can choose to be added to the waitlist and will be contacted if there is an opening.

What should I bring to my appointment?

If you have had any diagnostic tests performed (X-Ray, MRI, Blood tests etc.) in relation to the injury/problem within the last 12 months, it is advisable to bring them along as we take these into consideration when assessing your overall health.

Do I need a referral?

No, referrals are not necessary at our clinic.

Do you have EFTPOS?

We offer card transactions via the Square Reader. It is a point of sales device that allows you to pay with your debit or credit cards with a receipt being sent directly to your email/mobile.

Can I claim on my private health fund?

Yes – Our clinic is fully registered with every health fund that allows Acupuncture rebates. Whether or not you are covered and how much you get back depends on your package with your health fund. In short, if you have opted for Acupuncture cover then you can claim with our clinic. Please note we do not do on the spot claims (HICAPS); you will be emailed a dated invoice which you provide to your health insurer.

What should I wear?

Loose fitting clothing is advised though not essential for Acupuncture. We offer gowns to change into for both comfort and treatment accessibility.

Do I need to fast prior to an Acupuncture treatment?

No, in fact it is advisable that you eat a proper meal before your treatment.

Should I avoid any activity afterwards?

Unless strictly advised (due to existing injury), you are able to perform any of your normal activities post treatment.

Is Acupuncture safe during pregnancy?

As long as you inform your practitioner that you are pregnant then there will be no complications. Acupuncture can be used to assist with the symptoms of morning sickness, threatened miscarriage, breech presentation and also labor induction.

I’m scared of needles – Does Acupuncture hurt?

This is a very common fear and the truth is that an acupuncture needle is as thin as a human hair, you could fit 8-10 acupuncture needles into the head of a syringe. Some points may be more sensitive than others due to anatomical location and nerve endings however the practitioner will make absolutely sure you are comfortable before proceeding.

How many treatments will I need?

As every patient is different so too is the answer to this question. Generally speaking a patient will feel better after the initial treatment but it can take up to three sessions to notice a proper change. The outcome of your treatment depends on your dedication to the treatment plan and frequency of attendance. We endeavor to work with you to reach your goals but it must be a team effort. A more detailed explanation can be read here.

Will this interfere with my medication/other treatments?

There should be no interaction however it is of the upmost importance that you tell the practitioner any and all medications you are taking.
